Question: What is the Nihongo Machine?
Answer: The Nihongo Machine is software designed to help you build your vocabulary and master Japanese.
Question: How does it work?
Answer: NM is based on the proven flash card method of studying vocbulary. You can browse through the cards manually or automatically, see one side of the card or both sides, load vocabulary lists, master them and then test your knowledge with our built in test system.
Question: What level is the NM for?
Answer: The NM has all the basic level kana and kanji that beginners need to get started, but the NM was designed with intermediate and advanced students in mind. We promise that even advanced students will be challenged.
Question: Are there additional vocabulary lists avilable other than the ones included?
Answer: Yes! We have two expansion vocabulary sets available for The Nihongo machine. Joyo 1 and Joyo 2. Totalling 2000 charachters they cover almost all common kanji used in modern Japanese. Click here for more information.

How can I get my own lists into the NM?
I'm using "X" study book. How can I get the vocabulary into the NM?
Answer: This version of NM does not allow users to edit the lists themselves, but we are constantly collecting user feedback and suggestions for lists. If you have a specific set of words or a specific topic or subject you would like, let us know. We will make lists based on your suggestions.
Question: There is no sound
Answer: We are working on adding sound enhancements and a version will be released as a free update to registered owners.
Question: What can I expect in future versions?
Answer: We hope YOU will tell us the exact features you want and need to study better. We are committed to using student feedback in order to enhance the software. That said, we are planning a whole host of improvements both in basic design and style, but also in features. The biggest project will be creating lists that have audio. Those will be offered as add-on list sets like the other list sets we offer.
